The First Presbyterian Church of Martinsville is a caring family where ALL ARE WELCOME. We welcome seekers, doubters, as well as those who are sure in their faith. We are an inclusive congregation that welcomes into its membership and leadership all persons who profess faith in Jesus Christ regardless of age, ethnicity, national origin, race, sex, ability, gender identity, financial means, education, sexual orientation, and political ideology,
We invite YOU to join with us in ministry, mission, and fellowship. The First Presbyterian Church extends a warm welcome in the name of Christ to all who worship with us. If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to consider joining with us in our ministry and mission. If you are interested in joining, please contact our pastor, John Erickson, by email or by calling the church office. He is also available to talk with you following any worship service.
There are three ways to become a member of the First Presbyterian Church:
Profession of Faith– One becomes an active member of the church through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Reaffirmation of Faith– You are asked to once again acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Transfer of Membership– If you are active in another Christian church, you can join by transfer of membership. After you join, the Clerk of Session writes to your former church informing them that you have united with us in membership.
