The Covid 19 pandemic has taken its toll on all of us. But there can be no question the ones hardest hit are those whose loved ones lost their lives . . . often succumbing to the virus without the comfort and presence of family or friends in their last days.
We have experienced this deep sadness at the First Presbyterian Church and yet maintain deeper faith in the words of the Apostle Paul that “nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ”. And so the First Presbyterian Church of Martinsville is creating a memorial quilt to honor and remember those in Morgan County who were taken from us too soon by the virus. The quilt will be comprised of squares each of which will contain the name and life dates of our lost loved ones. We are currently soliciting names from families who wish to have their loved ones commemorated. May the peace of God be with you.
Participation is free and open to all families in Morgan County who have lost a loved one to Covid-19. Upon completion, the quilt will be dedicated in a special service to be announced. It will then be available for display in a variety of settings before settling in a permanent location inside the First Presbyterian Church.
Complete the form below. In the message section, leave the name of the remembered, dates of birth and death, your relationship to the remembered, and a short sentence about them. You may also include a photograph (optional). You can also call the church at 765-342-3282 to register.
Please call or email the church for additional information or questions.
